I had an interesting chat with an old friend earlier today, and it got me in a rather nostalgic mood. I spent the better part of the afternoon watching an impending thunderstorm approach, and reminiscing about the calmness that prevailed once upon a time.
Such is the nature of a trip down memory lane.
The mind recalls all that was scenic and beautiful, erasing that which caused anguish and grief. Rocky outcrops are replaced by gardens of roses and fields of sunflowers. Tears are replaced by cascading waterfalls. Thunder and lightning is replaced by the sounds of hummingbirds and majestic fireworks displays.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if life were a continuous movie always being recorded on DVD, so that we may pause certain parts, skip through certain scenes, and have other scenes placed on a permanent loop to be replayed as often as we desired?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful?
